Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 130g of Anchor Butter  
  • 113g of Castor Sugar  
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Essence 
  • 1 teaspoon of Red Coloring
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vinegar
  • 250g of All Purpose Flour
  • 2 tablespoon of Cocoa Powder  
  • 2 tablespoon of Corn Flour
  • 1 teaspoon of Baking Powder 
  • 1 teaspoon of Baking Soda
  • 150g of Chocolate Chips


  1. Mix the melted butter and castor sugar in a bowl.
  2. Add an egg yolk, vanilla essence, red colouring and vinegar. Mix until combined.
  3. Sift the wheat flour, cocoa powder, corn flour, baking powder and baking  soda and pour into the bowl. Mix until combined.
  4. Add the chocolate chips into the batter and mix. Preheat the oven.
  5. Prepare a baking tray and place baking paper.
  6. Scoop the cookie batter into small portions onto the baking tray.
  7. Preheat oven at 160C for 5 – 10 minutes. Then, bake in the oven at 160c for 10-15 minutes.


  • Chocolate chips can be substitued with nuts for that same crunchy texture.
  • Flavour can be enhanced by adding 1 tablespoon of coffee.
