Crunchy Almond & Orange French toast  with sugar topping

8 slices brioche bread

2 cups Anchor milk powder (6 full table spoons of Anchor powder mixed in 2 glasses of water)

Zest of 2 oranges

A generous pinch of sea salt

6 eggs

2 teaspoons almond extract

2 tablespoons honey (I like dark, raw honey)

2 tablespoons honey (I like dark, raw honey)

1. Place all the ingredients (except the bread) in a blender and whip. Pour into a shallow bowl.

2.Melt about 2 tablespoons of butter along with a teaspoon or so of honey in a small bowl.

3.Brush a hot griddle with a little bit of the honey butter mixture. Dip the bread quickly in the egg mixture and place on the hot griddle. Cook on both sides, about 1 to 2 minutes per side, until golden brown.

4.½ cup of thinly sliced skin off almonds tossed on the pan till gold sprinkle at the top of warm toast and dust with icing sugar.
