Anchor organic cheese and butter are USDA certified organic and made with milk from our organic farms located in the green rolling hills of New Zealand’s North Island. Our organic farms are mostly small family farms, often in the family for generations.
Our temperate climate means our cows have access to pasture all year round, but it's not just any grass, we know giving our cows a varied diet of many different types of pasture, herbs and legumes helps to keep our cows healthy and producing quality milk. The pasture rich diet of our cows is what gives our butter it’s fresh creamy taste and rich golden hue.
Our organic cheese and butter is certified USDA organic, meaning it’s non-GMO and free from synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, antibiotics and growth hormones such as rBGH/rBST1.
Cows are the heart of every dairy farm, and their wellbeing means everything to our farmers. Our independently certified Cared for Cows Standard represents our approach to animal wellbeing — an approach that supports our cows are healthy, productive and are valued and treated with respect throughout their lives.
1Use of growth hormones is regulated in NZ under the Animals Products Act. For use in the US, the FDA has determined no significant difference has been shown between milk derived from RBST-treated and non-rBST-treated cows.
