When you buy Anchor Organic carbonzero butter you’re choosing a butter that has net zero carbon emissions, supports environmental projects in your own backyard and supports you, your family and the planet.
To gain our carbonzero™ certification, we calculated the carbon emissions from our organic butter from farm to consumers' homes and disposal, worked to reduce emissions, committed to reduce emissions further and supported renewable energy projects to offset any left over.
This process was audited and verified by an independent certifier, Toitū Envirocare. Toitū is one of the world’s leading environmental certification businesses and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research, a New Zealand government-owned Crown Research Institute. Find out more about Toitū here.
The Toitu carbonzero™ certification program follows the internationally recognized PAS 2050 product carbon neutrality standard. Most carbon neutral certifications follow this same standard.
When we need to purchase carbon offsets we choose to support high quality environmental projects in both our homeland as well as yours. In the USA we support Crow Lake Wind and Power initiative and Onil Stoves in Mexico. Click the links to find out more.
New Zealand has amongst the world's lowest carbon dairy on farm, but we are not stopping there. To reduce emissions further we're supporting farmers to reduce their footprint, innovating to reduce emissions on-farm, and increasing renewable energy use to move towards net zero carbon.
